EU markets

SEO and websites for companies working in EU markets

We work for clients across Europe and in other international markets. Websites in English, German and Hungarian, local SEO for Dublin or Bad Harzburg, GDPR compliance and ads for local audiences, from a team you can work with in English, Serbian or Hungarian.

Marketing for EU markets: Ireland, Germany, Hungary

In short

Marketing for EU markets: website, SEO and ads in your customer's language

Marketing for EU markets means giving a company, whether it is based in Serbia or already trading in Europe, a website and campaigns built for each country: the language, local search behaviour, legal requirements and the way customers there make decisions. We run projects across Europe and in other international markets.

Our marketing for EU markets starts with research into how people in that country actually search for your service, not with a translation of an existing site.

What we do

Specifically for your sector

A website in your customer's language

Copy written for local customers and local searches, not a literal translation.

Multilingual structure

A separate URL for each language, hreflang tags and a clear language switcher, so Google shows everyone the right version.

Local SEO in the EU

Google Business Profile, local directories and reviews in the market where you operate, following that market’s rules.

GDPR and legal pages

Cookie consent, a privacy policy and an Impressum where required, with analytics that respect consent.

Ads for local audiences

Google and Meta campaigns in the market’s language and currency, targeted at the city or region where you work.

No language barrier

You run the project in English, Serbian or Hungarian, and we write and optimise in the language of the market.

Translation is not enough

The most common mistake companies make when entering a foreign market is translating their existing site and expecting the same results. People in Dublin do not search for “general cleaning”; they search for “deep cleaning Dublin” or “end of tenancy cleaning”. In Germany a house clearance service is called “Entrümpelung”, and customers expect an Impressum and transparent pricing. Keywords, the way services are structured and what builds trust all vary from market to market.

So for each market we research keywords in that language and build pages around how local customers search, with copy written by someone who genuinely knows the language.

Where we have already worked

  • Ireland: Dream Cleaning and BioClean Dublin, English-language websites for cleaning companies in Dublin, with pages for each service and area of the city, Google reviews and WhatsApp.
  • Germany: Tommy Reinigung, a German-language site for house clearances, cleaning and interior work in the Harz region, with GDPR consent and reliable enquiry delivery.
  • Hungary: Foto-Maja, a Hungarian-language website for a wedding photographer in Szeged, with online booking for photography services.

The technical side of a multilingual website

A multilingual site has to be set up so that Google knows which version is meant for whom. We use a separate URL path for each language (for example /en/, /de/, /hu/), hreflang tags between the versions, translated page URLs and metadata, and the language in the schema markup. We do not redirect visitors automatically by IP address, because it confuses both customers and Google.

If you operate in a single foreign market, a separate domain with a local extension (.ie, .de) is sometimes the better choice. We decide that together, based on the company’s plans.

GDPR, cookies and tracking

In the EU, visitor analytics and advertising pixels only run with consent. We set up a consent banner and Google Consent Mode so that Google Analytics and Google Ads still receive modelled data when a visitor declines cookies. Without it, EU campaigns run blind.

We also add whatever local law requires, such as an Impressum in Germany, and check that forms do not send personal data unnecessarily.

FAQ

EU markets: questions and answers

Yes. We have built English-language sites for Ireland, German-language sites for Germany and Hungarian-language sites for Hungary. We write the copy for local customers and local searches.

Not always. For several languages, one domain with language versions is usually enough. If you work mainly in one market, a local domain such as .de or .ie can help build trust. We decide based on the company’s plans.

Hreflang is a tag that tells Google a page exists in several languages and which version is meant for which country or language. Without it, Google may show the wrong version or treat the language versions as duplicates.

English, Serbian or Hungarian, whichever suits you. The website and campaigns are produced in the language of the market.

How we work

How we approach marketing for EU markets

The same service is searched for with different words in Dublin, Bad Harzburg and Szeged. That is why marketing for EU markets cannot be a translated copy of a domestic campaign.

Search research by country

We build a list of searches in the market’s language, including city and district names, and check the competition in the local version of Google.

A website adapted to the country

A page for each service and area, a local phone number and payment methods, and legal pages that follow the country’s regulations. For multiple languages we use the correct markup, following Google’s guidance on multilingual and multi-regional sites.

Data protection and cookies

GDPR, cookie consent and an Impressum where required are part of the project from day one.

Local SEO and ads

A Google Business Profile at an address in the country, reviews, and Google Ads limited to the area where the company operates.

Marketing for EU markets in practice: Dream Cleaning and BioClean Dublin in Ireland, Urban Werk in Germany and Foto-Maja in Hungary.
